INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups Balsam Raw Humera Sesame Seeds
- 3–4 tbsp neutral oil
- Pinch of salt
METHOD
- Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until lightly golden and fragrant.
- Let cool slightly, then blend with the oil and salt in a food processor for 5–8 minutes, scraping down the sides, until completely smooth.
Toasting the seeds first (rather than blending them raw) is what gives homemade tahini its characteristic nutty depth.
