Classic rolled cream cheese pastry filled with hazelnut halawa spread and chopped hazelnuts.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 batch cream cheese rugelach dough
- 1/2 cup Balsam Hazelnut Halawa Spread
- 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts
METHOD
- Roll out the dough into circles.
- Spread a thin layer of hazelnut halawa spread over each, then scatter chopped hazelnuts.
- Cut into wedges and roll up from the wide end.
- Bake according to your dough recipe until golden.
A thin layer goes further than you'd think — halawa spread is rich, so don't overload the dough or it'll be hard to roll.
