Homemade granola sweetened entirely by date syrup instead of refined sugar.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup Balsam Date Syrup
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts, chopped

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Toss the oats and nuts with date syrup and oil until evenly coated.
  3. Spread onto a baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway, until golden.
  4. Cool completely before storing — it crisps up as it cools.

Date syrup caramelizes more than white sugar does, so keep an eye on the last 10 minutes to avoid over-browning.
